B&K Supplies a 2DWR Supermill®, Master Bundler and Accessory System to Mexico

B&K recently supplied a 2DWR Supermill®, Master Bundler and Accessory System to a new factory in Mexico, to produce drywall steel framing components. The 2DWR Supermill® will manufacture drywall stud and tracks from 25 to 18 gauges, in 1-5/8” up to 8” web widths at speeds up to 500 FPM, coupled with a master bundler to package stud and track for distribution.  The Accessory System produces four (4) unique accessory profiles in multiple gauges, including a continuous pattern rotary punch unit for corner bead.

B&K’s patented gauge adjustment and rotary technologies make the Supermill® and Accessory Systems the highest production and versatile steel framing solutions available.  The Accessory System can be expanded to produce up to eight (8) unique profiles and multiple hole patterns.  For more information, contact sales@formtekgroup.com , call (216) 292-4460 or visit www.bkformtek.com.

Yoder "New" Strut Tooling Redesign

Yoder recently updated its forming design for roll tooling to produce strut framing channel.  The tooling updates can form the full range of strut sizes, from 13/16” to 3-1/4” without marking the profile in carbon, galvanized and stainless steel material.  Unlike competitors, Yoder’s strut tooling design does not utilize bronze or floating flange rolls to tackle the galling issue of taller profiles.  The new tooling design has been installed on multiple systems and has enabled customers to triple the speed at which they produce 3-1/4” strut framing channel in stainless steel, the most challenging of strut profiles to form without galling.

Yoder’s roll forming tooling is purposefully designed and manufactured to meet a range of custom and high production, industrial applications.  For more information, contact yoder@formtekgroup.com, call (216) 292-4460 or visit www.yodermfg.com

B&K Accessory System Redesign

B&K recently updated its Accessory System for production of steel framing components.  The updated design incorporates features of the 2DWR Supermill®, resulting in higher production speed capabilities of the Accessory System while insuring greater control for the precut operation of light gauge profiles.  The Accessory System can be supplied for one (1) profile to eight (8) unique accessory profiles, as well as multiple rotary punch patterns.  The continuous pattern rotary punch utilizes quick die change features for efficient changeover when multiple punch patterns are required on one machine.  The speed and precut arrangement of the B&K Accessory System results in a high production volume, versatile roll former that offers the most up time compared to any competitors accessory machine.

B&K’s patented gauge adjustment and rotary technologies make the Supermill® and Accessory Systems the highest production and versatile steel framing solutions available.  The Accessory System can produce up to eight (8) unique profiles and multiple hole patterns.  For more information, contact sales@formtekgroup.com , call (216) 292-4460 or visit www.bkformtek.com.

Flagler Panel and HAP 20 press

Hill Engineering of Carol Stream, IL, a member of the Formtek Group, has supplied an OEM Roll Forming Manufacture with a flying slugless panel cutoff die and HAP 30 ton bladder style air press. The air press was shipped complete with press rails, back stop return plate and wired terminal box to be incorporated into a line they are providing for their customer with open loop measuring. The customer had multiple part widths that had to run, but because of the part configurations they could not be run as a center or edge constant. So engineering team at Hill designed slugless die was designed to handle multiple part width configurations with almost no changeovers required.

With Hill Engineering’s long history in design and innovations the initial system was designed to be flexible so to maximize the customers initial capital expenditures so future products to run on the line.

Winpro Roll Forming Machine

Formtek recently supplied a window manufacturer a Winpro S-series roll forming machine.  The machine is unique in that it can roll from up to four (4) different geometries without any changeover.  Another unique feature is the tooling design, which is capable of forming two (2) identical thicknesses of strip for a given geometry at the same time.  This allows the use of various materials with the same tooling design.  This feature will enable the customer to utilize scrap from other operations to produce stiffeners for vinyl extrusions.
