Dahlstrom recently
supplied a customer with a 2DFR Supermill® Roll Forming system for production
of steel door frames. The system is equipped with motorized, programmable
adjustment, so the operator can select the profile to be run, by choosing from
the included part master database, or input the profile dimensions on the
operator’s touchscreen. All feature dimensions, as well as over-bending,
flare compensation and material thickness can be stored and adjusted by the
main touchscreen control. The system was supplied with an entry feed
conveyor that automatically transferred the sheet blank from the customer’s
upstream coil processing line. The supermill system is also
available as a stand-alone machine, so customers may load notched or sheet
blanks from a discrete turret press, laser or cut-to-length process.
